Two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were injured in an IED blast triggered by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district on Friday, according to the police.
The blast occurred on Friday morning near Garpa village when a BSF team was patrolling the area. The team was conducting a road-opening operation between their camp and the village when the Naxalites detonated the explosive, a police officer explained.
The injured jawans are being transported to a hospital for treatment, he added.
This incident follows several similar attacks in the region. On Thursday, two commandos from CoBRA, the CRPF's elite jungle warfare unit, were injured by a pressure IED planted by Naxalites in the neighboring Bijapur district.

Earlier this month, on January 12, a 10-year-old girl was injured in Sukma district, while two policemen sustained injuries in Bijapur in separate IED blasts. On January 10, a villager was killed and three others were hurt in two IED explosions in the Orchha area of Narayanpur.
On January 6, a major attack in Bijapur claimed the lives of eight police personnel and their civilian driver when Naxalites blew up their vehicle with an IED.
These incidents highlight the ongoing challenges of combating Naxalite activity in the region.
