In a major breakthrough against cross‑border narco‑terror networks, the Amritsar police have busted two narcotic cartels with the arrest of six drug traffickers and seizure of 9 kg of heroin from them.

 

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said on Thursday that according to the preliminary investigations conducted by the police, foreign‑based Harpreet alias Happy Jatt of Jandiala Guru, a notorious gangster, has direct links with Pakistan‑based smugglers and operates the network through social media platforms.

 

He said FIRs have been lodged at the Chheharta police station and further investigations are on to trace wider networks, financial trails and cross‑border linkages in both the cases.
