Two siblings booked under UAPA in Doda blast case

Doda police have booked two siblings in  Doda blast case under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act  UAPA, who are said to have past history of involvement in terror activities. The Police have begun investigation into the 'terror case' that has its roots some 30 years ago.

Doda police have booked two siblings in  Doda blast case under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act  UAPA, who are said to have past history of involvement in terror activities. The Police have begun investigation into the 'terror case' that has its roots some 30 years ago.

 

The officials said  that an information was received through reliable sources at Police Station Doda that Javed Hussain Attu (45) and Muzaffar Hussain Attu (36) sons of late Abdul Ahad Attu, residents of Mohalla Drumri Tehsil and District Doda, have been found involved in terrorist activities.Both the siblings with criminal intent have conspired to carry out acts of terrorism in order to disturb the peaceful environment of the area, spread fear and panic among the public, endanger the security and integrity of the country, and to cause harm to the security forces.

 

For this purpose, they had concealed a grenade inside their house with the intention of attacking a nearby police post or security forces personnel added that while preparing to carry out a terrorist attack using the said prohibited grenade, the grenade slipped from the hand of Javed Hussain which fell into the courtyard of the said house, and exploded with a loud blast. However, due to the explosion of the grenade, no person was reportedly injured, but it created an atmosphere of fear and terror among the general public.

 

 FIR has been registered under UAPA  and investigation of this case has been entrusted to Deputy SP  Doda, Ajay Anand.The official sources informed that the house of the two accused brothers is not new to terror related activities. Earlier,  two terrorists including one Pakistani  was killed in an encounter in their  house.

 

The officials added that one among the two accused is a shopkeeper and was also involved in scrap business while the other accused Muzzafar Hussain is working in the Health department of J&K. The officials said that both the accused have formally been arrested and the investigation to ascertain involvement of more persons is underway.

 

Meanwhile, an Old terrorist hideout was busted in Churat village Qazigund area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday. A top police officer told, that the old terrorist hideout was unearthed by a joint team of security forces during a search operation launched at Churat village in Qazigund following specific inputs.The hideout was later destroyed on the spot while searches in the area are continuing, the officer added.
