A private bus overturned on the Amritsar–Pathankot national highway on Friday, killing two students and injuring five others, police said. The deceased, both around 23 years old, were from Jammu, Station House Officer Rajwant Kaur said.

She said the two were students of a college in Punjab and were among around 10 students travelling in the bus.

 

“Five injured students, including three with head injuries, were taken to a hospital in Gurdaspur,” the officer said.

 

The cause of the accident is still not known.
