Around 6.10 pm on Sunday, terrorists targeted the bus with gunfire, causing it to veer off the road and plunge into a deep gorge near Teryath village in the Poni area. The bus, which had a seating capacity of 53, was en route from the Shiv Khori temple to Katra at the time of the attack.

Among those who lost their lives were Rajendra Saini (42), Mamta Saini (40), Pooja Saini (30), and her two-year-old son Titu. Pooja's husband, Pavan (32), was injured in the incident, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (west) Amit Kumar.

The police stated that Rajendra Saini and his wife Mamta resided in the Panchyawali Dhani region in Chomu town, while Mamta lived in Ajmera ki Dhani in the Murlipura police station area in Jaipur.

Sunil Kumar, who is the SHO of Murlipura police station, mentioned that Rajendra operated a fabric store in Chomu, and Pavan owns an e-Mitra shop in Ajmera ki Dhani.

The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajanlal Sharma, expressed his condolences and mentioned that officials from the state government were instructed to collaborate with authorities from Jammu and Kashmir to repatriate the bodies.
