Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Tuesday night arrested a 24-year-old Indian Navy personnel on charges of alleged anti-national activities and espionage for Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Police said.

According to a statement issued by the ATS, intelligence inputs indicated that an individual was in contact with a Pakistan-based ISI agent and was allegedly sharing sensitive information related to India’s defence infrastructure.

Following the tip-off, the ATS launched an investigation using electronic and physical surveillance. The suspect was identified as Adarsh Kumar alias Lucky, a resident of Agra. He was serving as a Seaman in the Southern Naval Command of the Indian Navy in Kochi, Kerala.

Investigators alleged that Kumar had established contact with a Pakistan-based handler linked to the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The accused, identified as Jhabraram, a resident of Nedan village in Jaisalmer, was reportedly in regular contact with Pakistani intelligence agents through social media platforms. During joint interrogation by multiple agencies at the Central Interrogation Centre in Jaipur, investigators found that he had allegedly been honey-trapped by ISI operatives.
