The verification of Ayushman cards is being carried out in Uttarakhand to identify people who are benefiting from multiple health schemes. The aim is to ensure that only eligible individuals receive benefits from the Ayushman scheme.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a meeting with the Health Department officials to address complaints about Ayushman cards being issued to ineligible individuals in the state.

It was revealed that many people have Ayushman cards along with cards from other schemes, particularly the State Employees Insurance Scheme. According to the rules, a person can only benefit from one scheme. These individuals will be identified and removed from the system.

Ration card requirement for Ayushman Cards

It was also noted that people from other states are coming to Uttarakhand to get Ayushman cards. To address this, the government has made the ration card mandatory for issuing Ayushman cards.

All Ayushman cards are now issued based on the ration card details. If someone is found to be misusing the ration card system, their Ayushman card will also be canceled.
