Uttarakhand Congress president Karan Mahara fainted on Wednesday during a protest held by the party against the central government in Dehradun. The incident occurred amidst a minor scuffle with the police as Congress workers attempted to march towards the Raj Bhavan.
During the altercation, Mahara reportedly lost his balance, causing his head to hit the ground. The impact led to him briefly losing consciousness, creating a moment of concern among party members and onlookers.
Speaking about the incident after regaining composure, Mahara assured his supporters and the public that he was unharmed. "During the scuffle with the police, I fell down, which caused me to faint momentarily. There is nothing to worry about. I am fine now," he said.
The Congress had organised the 'Raj Bhavan March' to raise demands addressing several critical issues, including inflation, unemployment, corruption, and allegations involving industrialist Gautam Adani.
The protest witnessed active participation from party workers and leaders, who called for immediate action from the central government to resolve these pressing matters.
Despite the commotion, the Congress remained steadfast in its stance, vowing to continue its efforts to hold the government accountable on these key issues. The incident involving Mahara underscored the tensions and challenges faced by opposition parties during public demonstrations.
