In Uttarakhand, 6,559 women will soon get jobs as part of an Anganwadi recruitment drive. Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya announced that 374 Anganwadi workers and 6,185 assistants will be recruited for vacant positions.
The department is expected to release a press statement in the next two days. Minister Rekha Arya shared this information after a meeting with senior officials at the National Sports Secretariat.
She explained that Anganwadi centers were upgraded in almost every district of the state, which led to assistants being promoted to Anganwadi workers. This created many vacant assistant positions.
Following recent changes to the Anganwadi Recruitment Rules, a government order has been issued, allowing recruitment for these roles. Minister Arya stated that the department has been instructed to issue a notification for the posts within the next one or two days.
Online applications will be accepted for these positions, and women candidates will have about 30 days to apply. Officials have been told to complete the recruitment process as quickly as possible.
Additionally, Minister Arya reviewed the Nanda Gaura Yojana and other schemes. She emphasised that Anganwadi centers must meet new standards, ensuring access to drinking water, electricity, and toilets.
She directed district programme officers in all 13 districts to send proposals within five days to provide these facilities in every Anganwadi center. The minister also urged maximum applications for the Nanda Gaura Yojana by December 31.
This update is part of the latest Dehradun news regarding Anganwadi recruitment and other welfare programs in the state.
