Uttarkashi DM warns of fake Facebook profiles

The DM has urged people not to respond to such friend requests and to report them immediately if those persons demand any money in the name of the District Magistrate.

The Uttarkashi District Administration has warned residents about fake social media profiles being created in the name of District Magistrate Prashant Arya on social media, especially on Facebook. These fake accounts are sending friend requests and may even demand money.

 

The DM has urged people not to respond to such friend requests and to report them immediately if those persons demand any money in the name of the District Magistrate. He also warned that strict legal action will be taken against those running these fake accounts.

 

Meanwhile, relief operations are still underway in Dharali after the devastating flash floods of August 5, which claimed lives and damaged property.

 

Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP) Deepam Seth on Sunday reviewed the first phase of relief and rescue efforts, which are being carried out under the direction of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The review meeting at Police Headquarters in Dehradun was attended by senior officers and team leaders from SDRF, fire services, PAC, telecom, and other police branches.

 

DGP Seth held a high-level review of the upcoming action plan at Police Headquarters in Dehradun. Those who attended the meeting were officials who were sent for effective conduct of relief and rescue operations in Uttarkashi district. Attendees included all senior police officers and team leaders of various branches of police, including SDRF, fire service, PAC, telecom, etc.

 

The DGP also discussed the second phase of the action plan during the meeting. It was decided that special focus will be given on the search and rescue operation. Meanwhile, the bridge connecting Uttarkashi to Harsil has also been rebuilt, allowing smooth movement of machinery and relief materials.
