Ahead of its much-anticipated formal operations in Kashmir, the first rake of the specially designed Vande Bharat Express train arrived at Jammu’s Tawi railway station, drawing a large crowd that greeted the historic moment with loud cheers.
According to the latest details, the train, which arrived at platform number one, is set to commence operations between Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station and the Kashmir Valley.
As the train arrived, the Jammu Tawi railway station echoed with a unique announcement: "Yatrigan kripya dhyan dein, Vande Bharat train sankhya 244027 Kashmir jane ke liye platform number ek par khadi hai."
The Kashmir-bound Vande Bharat Express, in comparison to the other 136 Vande Bharat Express trains, offers a unique experience as it features climate-specific enhancements to address operational challenges and passengers' needs in Jammu and Kashmir’s extreme weather conditions.
The train is equipped with state-of-the-art heating systems to prevent freezing of water and bio-toilet tanks, warm air for vacuum systems, and optimised air-brake functionality for hassle-free operations in sub-zero temperatures.
Embedded heating elements in the windscreen ensure clear visibility by defrosting the driver’s front lookout glass during harsh winters.
Furthermore, the train features all the standard Vande Bharat amenities, such as fully air-conditioned coaches, automatic plug doors, and mobile and PC charging sockets.
The train is likely to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the Republic Day celebrations.
