Veteran journalist and former president of the Chandigarh Press Club, Nalin Acharya, passed away after a prolonged illness on Sunday. His cremation was held at the crematorium in Sector 25, Chandigarh.
Acharya’s health suddenly deteriorated on Saturday, after which he was rushed to PGI, where he passed away on Sunday morning.
Former Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh expressed his grief on X, saying, “Saddened to learn about the demise of senior journalist Nalin Acharya, former President of the Press Club Chandigarh.”
SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal also condoled Acharya's passing. In a social media post, he wrote, “Deeply saddened to learn about the passing of senior journalist Nalin Acharya, former President of the Chandigarh Press Club. His unwavering commitment to journalism and tireless service to the press community will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, and loved ones during this profound time of grief. May his soul rest in peace.”
