Actor-politician Vijay has instructed candidates of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) to report directly to the party headquarters in Panaiyur after the declaration of Assembly election results. With polling for the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026 concluded on April 23 and counting scheduled for May 4, Vijay visited the party’s Panaiyur office on Thursday to meet candidates who contested the elections.

During the interaction, Vijay outlined key instructions for counting day, urging candidates to remain vigilant amid concerns over possible disruptions. According to party sources, he cautioned that rival parties might attempt to create disturbances during the counting process.

“There is a chance that other parties may try to disrupt proceedings on May 4. Even if results are in our favour, you must remain extremely cautious,” Vijay reportedly told the candidates.

He directed candidates to arrive at their respective counting centres by 6:00 am and instructed them not to leave under any circumstances. Dismissing the significance of exit polls, he said, “Do not worry about exit polls. The people have already made their choice. The results will be clear on May 4.”

Vijay further stated that all victorious candidates must proceed directly to the party headquarters in Panaiyur. “Do not go anywhere else. Come straight here— I will be waiting,” he said.

TVK’s RK Nagar candidate Maria Wilson confirmed the guidance, stating that Vijay reviewed their preparations and reassured them regarding speculation based on exit polls.

The meeting marked Vijay’s first direct interaction with candidates following the polling. Earlier, he had conducted zone-wise consultations to assess challenges faced by party workers during the campaign. He met around 25 candidates during Thursday’s session.
