Teaching a lesson for harassing girls, villagers in Nuh, shaved the heads of two-eve teasers from a neighbouring village. Hailing from Chilawali, the duo used to come to Mandarka village daily and harass women by writing nasty comments and hurling chits at them.
Not only this, but they also reportedly stopped girls on the roads, made inappropriate remarks outside schools, and engaged in other forms of harassment. Despite repeated warnings from the villagers, their parents, and the village panchayat, the harassment continued.
Fed up with the lack of action, the villagers decided to take matters into their own hands. They captured the two men and shaved their heads in a public display of punishment. The incident was filmed and later shared on social media. Following this, the villagers contacted the police.
"These men had become a constant nuisance and had no fear of the police. If we had called the police earlier, they would have been easily let off, but the village has taught them a lesson they will never forget. We have also asked their panchayat to punish them," said a Panchayat member from Mandarka.
The local Station House Officer (SHO) confirmed the incident and stated that the two men had been handed over to the authorities for further investigation.
