Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary and Party In-Charge for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Tarun Chugh, announced on Thursday that the party was fully prepared for the upcoming Assembly elections in J&K.
Speaking to party workers in Banihal, Chugh expressed confidence in achieving a comprehensive victory. “The BJP is ready. Whenever the elections are held, our workers are prepared. From Banihal, the BJP is beginning its journey to victory,” he said.
Chugh requested party workers to try their best to ensure the BJP’s success. He criticised leaders of other prominent parties such as the “Muftis” of People’s Democratic Party and “Abdullahs” of National Conference for "failing" to serve the people of Banihal, accusing them of using the region for political gains.
“Many have formed governments, but Banihal has not benefitted,” he remarked.
Reminding the gathering of the BJP’s success in recent elections, Chugh noted, “In the last three Lok Sabha elections, Congress has been exposed. Rahul Gandhi has lost more than a dozen elections.”
He acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, crediting his development policies for transforming Jammu and Kashmir from a “terrorism capital to a tourism capital.”
While addressing the issues of terrorism and Pakistan’s influence, Chugh said, “Pakistan is trying to fight a lost battle. These conspiracies will not succeed. Those with weapons who are killing our citizens will not be forgiven.”
He assured the people of Jammu & Kashmir of their safety and the government’s commitment to ending terrorism. “Our citizens in Jammu and Kashmir are valuable to us. They will be protected at any cost,” he added.
