Several parts of Himachal Pradesh received light to moderate rainfall on Monday evening, bringing relief from rising temperatures, even as the local Meteorological Department forecast a prolonged wet spell across the state until June 8.
According to the Met office in Shimla, weather conditions are expected to remain unstable over the coming days due to the influence of a fresh western disturbance that is likely to affect northwest India from June 3 onwards. The system is expected to trigger widespread rainfall activity across various districts of the hill state.
In view of the anticipated weather conditions, the department has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds with speeds ranging between 30 and 40 kilometres per hour at isolated locations until June 4. Residents and tourists have been advised to remain cautious, particularly in vulnerable areas prone to landslides and weather-related disruptions.

The expected wet spell is likely to bring further fluctuations in temperatures across the state, while also providing much-needed moisture for agricultural and horticultural activities. However, authorities are closely monitoring weather developments as heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds could potentially affect transportation, tourism and daily life in some areas.
