Lieutenant General P K Mishra, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the White Knight Corps, visited the forward areas of the Sundarbani sector to assess the security situation and operational preparedness along the Line of Control.

 

The GOC also visited Doda, Kishtwar and parts of the south Kashmir areas as part of his ongoing visit to Jammu and Kashmir. Lieutenant General Mishra was briefed by local commanders on the ground deployments, terrain challenges, and readiness of frontline troops.

 

He expressed satisfaction over the high level of alertness being maintained in the sensitive region. During the visit, the GOC emphasised maintaining robust defensive and surveillance measures along the Line of Control (LoC) to ensure mission effectiveness in safeguarding territorial integrity.

 

His visit also coincides with the ongoing encounter in Kulgam, where security forces have killed one militant, while four security forces personnel were also injured in the initial action.
