The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday criticised the National conference for advocating dialogue with Pakistan for regional peace and good relations.
Party’s UT chief Ravinder Raina questioned whether the suggested talks would end the ongoing terrorism and the bloodshed in the region.
Additionally, he confirmed that the BJP was at its full strength and dismissed the internal rift and resignations over the recent nominations by the party.
Raina, confident of victory in the upcoming polls, said the party will secure victory and form the next govt in the UT.
Raina said the BJP was focused on the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir while NC misplaced its focus on dialogue with Pakistan.
He mentioned past failed attempts at peace talks by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which were followed by continued violence.
“Unfortunately, the NC leaders do not talk about the welfare of the people, the Pakistani gun which brought death and destruction to our land. By advocating for a dialogue with Pakistan, they are not doing the right thing,” Raina said.
While addressing the issue of the job crisis and unemployment, he assured that the BJP would address ongoing issues faced by daily wagers, ad hoc employees, and need-based employees who have been demanding regularisation for decades.
Furthermore, Raina also suggested using video vans to cover every assembly segment, highlighting the achievements of the government over the past ten years, especially justice to the marginalised sections of society after the abrogation of Article 370.
“We are all together because our party believes in nation first, party second, and self-last,” he said, adding that Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have turned around the fate of Jammu and Kashmir with the restoration of peace, prosperity, and development.
