A woman reportedly died by suicide in Yamunanagar district of Haryana on Sunday, police said. She allegedly hanged herself in the bathroom of her house after marital discord.
The deceased has been identified as Ritu, who was married to Karan for the past 17 years. Police said she had been facing harassment after marriage and was under stress due to ongoing marital issues.
The body was taken into police custody and sent for post-mortem examination. Police said further action will be taken after recording the statements of the deceased’s family members.
In another incident, a 35-year-old man was killed on Sunday reportedly in a clash over flying a kite in Yamunanagar, police said.
The deceased, Rajesh Kumar, was allegedly attacked with a sharp-edged weapon during the clash, investigating officer Ved Pal said. A murder case has been registered against four members of the same family, and hunt is on to nab the accused.
