Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday called for the implementation of permanent noise control measures for loudspeakers at religious sites, underscoring the need for strict regulations.
He also directed officials to enforce a prohibition on high-volume DJs during Holi celebrations.
Reviewing development projects and law enforcement at the Circuit House in Varanasi, Adityanath stressed the importance of law and order, directing officials to install closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras at key locations such as banks, financial institutions, commercial hubs, and shops.
The Chief Minister ordered rigorous monitoring of cattle smuggling, warning that stern action would be taken against smugglers, vehicle owners, and any complicit police personnel.
In this regard, Additional Director General (ADG) Zone Piyush Mordia has been tasked with conducting district-wise reviews to ensure effective enforcement of the state’s complete ban on cattle smuggling.
Adityanath also emphasised the acceleration of development projects, cautioning against unnecessary delays.
He directed officials to appoint nodal officers for each ongoing project, conduct weekly inspections, and submit progress reports.
Noting sluggish progress in some areas, he instructed authorities to expedite construction while maintaining quality standards.
With summer approaching, the Chief Minister ordered officials to ensure an uninterrupted water supply.
He also proposed aesthetic enhancements for flyover pillars, suggesting artistic paintings and high-quality advertisements as part of the beautification efforts.
The issue of street vendors also featured in his directives, with an emphasis on creating adequate vending zones to accommodate hawkers.

Furthermore, he stressed the importance of ensuring affordable meals, free drinking water, and proper seating arrangements for farmers at all wheat procurement centres across the district.
The District Magistrate informed that wheat procurement at a rate of Rs 2,425 per quintal would commence from March 17 at 36 designated centres in the district.
Additionally, Adityanath called for the establishment of hostels and affordable canteens for working women in the district to provide them with better facilities.
With Holi festivities approaching, he cited the need for stringent security arrangements, directing officials to maintain strict vigilance during ‘Holika Dahan’ and Holi celebrations.
In line with his law enforcement directives, he instructed officials to identify the top ten criminals from each police station and ensure swift action against them.
These measures, he asserted, are essential to maintaining order, enhancing infrastructure, and ensuring public welfare in the state.
