In a sharp critique of the current administration, senior YSRCP leader K Kannababu has claimed that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu lacks the moral standing to lecture the public on credibility. Speaking in a press release on Monday, the former minister argued that Naidu’s long political career is fundamentally built on a foundation of broken promises and the frequent use of diversionary tactics to mask governing failures.
Kannababu pointed out that Naidu appears to have a singular political agenda regardless of the platform: attacking YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy while engaging in excessive self-congratulation. He even cited the recent 30th death anniversary of NT Rama Rao as an example, alleging that instead of honouring NTR’s legacy and ideals, the Chief Minister used the solemn occasion for self-glorification. This, according to Kannababu, is a reminder of Naidu’s past betrayal of NTR, a historical fact he believes the public has not forgotten.
Beyond personal characterisations, the YSRCP leader levelled several serious allegations against the current NDA coalition government. He claimed that the state is currently witnessing significant land irregularities, where prime real estate is being handed over to preferred corporate entities at bargain prices. He further accused the TDP-led government of creating a fertile environment for various "mafias" involved in land, sand, liquor, and drugs.
The liquor sector, in particular, came under heavy fire. Kannababu alleged that the system has deteriorated to the point where illegal sales and price gouging are rampant, claiming that the recent festive season was essentially turned into a "profit festival" for liquor syndicates. He expressed concern over the rising drug trade in Andhra Pradesh, suggesting that government inaction is allowing the state to become a regional hub for narcotics.
The experience politician has also rubbished the slogans for welfare activities launched by the Super Six by calling them a propaganda tool for deceiving the public. Kannababu has alleged "credit theft" by Naidu, as he constantly takes credit for the industrial projects and investments that were acquired in the previous tenure by the YSRCP. As reported by Kannababu, the regular activities aimed at criticising Jagan Mohan Reddy are only a plan to deflect the public’s attention towards the fact that the present government has failed in fulfilling their own election promises. Though these charges have been exposed, no official comment has been released by the Telugu Desam Party, which is presently in power.
