Assam to provide arms licences to natives in 'vulnerable' areas

The Assam cabinet has approved a scheme to issue arms licences to indigenous people in vulnerable districts and along the Bangladesh border, citing long-standing insecurity and threats. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the move addresses demands dating back to the Assam agitation.
