Right-wing historian Karol Nawrocki elected President of Poland

Karol Nawrocki, backed by the nationalist Law and Justice party, has won Poland’s presidential election with 50.9 per cent of the vote, narrowly defeating liberal Rafal Trzaskowski. The result signals a setback for Prime Minister Donald Tusk and deepens the country’s political division.
