Tribal bodies protest Assam govt's ST extension for 6 communities

Hundreds of students and tribal activists protested in Kokrajhar against the Assam Cabinet’s decision to grant ST status to six additional communities. The ABSU and allied groups warned that the move threatens the rights and opportunities of existing tribal populations.
