India reports consistent increase in forest cover over past 15 years at UNFF 19

India, represented by MoEFCC at UNFF 19, showcased a 15-year consistent forest cover increase, ranking third globally in annual forest area gain. The delegation stressed biodiversity preservation, commemorated milestones such as Project Tiger and Project Elephant anniversaries, and introduced initiatives like the International Big Cat Alliance and the Green Credit Programme for afforestation and land restoration.
