Ahead of polls, TN credits ₹5,000 to 1.31 crore women

Ahead of Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, CM M.K. Stalin released ₹5,000 each to 1.31 crore women under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme, framing it as an entitlement. He promised to double the monthly ₹1,000 benefit to ₹2,000 if the DMK returns to power.
