Reports from renowned Apple tracker 9To5Mac suggest that Apple is poised to kickstart production of a 20.3-inch folding device as early as next year, with a foldable iPhone anticipated to debut by 2026.

 

This revelation stems from insights shared by Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu, signaling a significant shift in Apple's product trajectory. 

 

Pu's investor note hints at Apple's concerted efforts towards foldable technology, aligning with earlier speculations.

 

Earlier discussions in February, as detailed by The Information, shed light on Apple's proactive exploration of clamshell iPhones, though tangible production timelines were projected for no earlier than 2025.

 

Esteemed Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo further fueled anticipation in March by disclosing Apple's developmental strides towards a 20.3-inch foldable MacBook, slated for mass production by 2027.

 

Reflecting these sentiments, display supply chain analyst Ross Young corroborated a prospective 2026/2027 release window for Apple's foldable device. 

 

Additional insights from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman hinted at Apple's explorations into a dual-screen, foldable MacBook/iPad hybrid, further underscoring the company's forward-thinking approach.

 

Pu's analysis emphasises Apple's strategic pivot towards capturing the ultra-high-end market with its foray into foldable technology, positioning the anticipated offerings as premium additions to its product ecosystem.

 

As per reports, Apple's contemplation extends to two potential screen sizes for its foldable iPhone, measuring between 7.9 inches and 8.3 inches, indicating meticulous deliberation in catering to consumer preferences.
