Extent of digitisation in India makes data security crucial: Rubrik founder Arvind

Arvind Nithrakashyap, Co-founder and CTO of Rubrik, a leading US-based cloud data management and security company, highlighted the critical importance of robust cybersecurity measures in today's increasingly digitised landscape.

Nithrakashyap emphasized that with the proliferation of digital transactions and cashless operations in India, ensuring secure handling of activities is imperative.

Rubrik, which recently went public, aims to provide organisations with advanced data protection and insights to counter cyber threats effectively.

Discussing Rubrik's inception, Nithrakashyap highlighted the company's founding principle of addressing the overlooked aspect of data security amid heavy investments in infrastructure security.

He emphasized the devastating impact of attackers breaching infrastructure defenses and compromising data integrity.

"The surge in cybercrime incidents globally has sparked alarm among business leaders and IT decision-makers. Projections suggest that the annual cost of cybercrime could soar to $10.5 trillion by 2025", Arvind said, while stressing upon the urgent need for organisations to strengthen their cyber defenses.

At the core of this concern lies the vulnerability of enterprise data, considered the lifeblood of modern businesses.

"Malicious actors are continuously evolving their tactics to exploit security gaps and compromise sensitive information", he said.
