The Startup Forum for Aspiring Leaders and Mentors (SUFALAM) 2024 concluded with a resounding message emphasizing the pivotal role of innovation, collaboration, and advanced technologies in propelling start-ups in the food processing domain towards becoming established businesses.
The two-day event, held on February 13th and 14th, 2024, in New Delhi, witnessed significant participation from key stakeholders, including start-ups, industry leaders, financial institutions, venture capitalists, and academia.
The inaugural ceremony was addressed by Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, Pashupati Kumar Paras, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Food Processing Industries, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, Secretary of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Anita Praveen among others.
With over 250 stakeholders in attendance, SUFALAM 2024 featured a comprehensive agenda comprising knowledge sessions, pitching sessions, panel discussions, networking opportunities, and an exhibition.
The knowledge sessions delved into critical topics such as the overview and benefits of start-ups, food regulations, and business and financial modeling for start-ups.
During the session on Start-up overview and benefits, participants were briefed on the various initiatives and programs offered by Startup India to nurture and support budding entrepreneurs.
Insights into mentorship opportunities and innovations under Startup India were shared, highlighting the initiative's role in fostering the start-up ecosystem in India.
Another knowledge session focused on food regulations, providing participants with valuable information on compliance standards, certifications, and regulations governing domestic and international trade of food products.
The panel discussions explored transformative strategies for the food processing industry, emphasizing diversification of raw materials, climate-resilient options, and creativity in entrepreneurship.
Discussions also centered on designing processing machinery, leveraging innovative Agri-Tech solutions, and optimizing supply chains to meet food safety standards.
Emphasis was placed on sustainable packaging, sourcing quality raw materials, and venturing into protein-rich foods and nutrition-based products aligned with consumer preferences.
