Bitchat, an app developed by the co-founder of X (formerly Twitter) Jack Dorsey, lets you chat even if you do not have an internet connection. Bitchat is only available on TestFlight for iPhone users.
The app operates using Bluetooth within a range of 30 meters. Unlike most messaging apps, it does not require users to register or log in with a Gmail account, mobile number or sim card, making it super easy to use. The messages are end-to-end encrypted.
Well, how does Bitchat work?
All of Bitchat's functionality is based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) mesh networks, which enable smartphones to group together locally and send encrypted messages between devices.
Users can send messages using Bluetooth instead of Wi-Fi or mobile data. This can be particularly helpful in locations with restricted or limited internet access or during network outages.
