Here are the key highlights from the event:

1.Revamped AI-Powered Search Engine:

Google introduced an upgraded search engine that leverages generative AI to organize search results more effectively.

AI-generated summaries, reviews, and suggestions from various sources, including social media, will appear when users look for inspiration, such as planning trips or searching for dining options and recipes.

Future expansions will include results for movies, books, hotels, and e-commerce.

2.Project Astra and Gemini Live:

Project Astra is Google's vision for future AI that can interact using sight, sound, voice, and text.

Meanwhile, the improved AI-powered chatbot Gemini now includes Gemini Live, enabling in-depth voice chats with real-time interaction and the ability to understand and respond to users' surroundings through smartphone cameras.

3.Google Veo for Video Creation:

Google announced Veo, an AI model that generates 1080p video clips up to a minute long from text prompts. Veo can create various visual styles, including landscapes and time lapses, and handle edits and adjustments. It understands camera movements and visual effects, contributing to the realism of the videos.

4.Ask Photos in Google Photos:

An experimental feature, Ask Photos, will be launched this summer. It allows users to search their Google Photos collection using natural language queries, leveraging the AI's understanding of the content and metadata of the photos.

5.Gemini in Gmail:

Gmail will soon feature AI-powered capabilities for searching, summarizing, and drafting emails. Gemini will also assist with more complex tasks like processing returns. In a demo, Gemini summarized emails from a child's school, including analyzing attachments for key points and action items.

6.Scam Detection in Calls:

Google previewed an AI feature to detect potential scams during calls. This capability, built into a future Android version, uses the on-device Gemini Nano AI to identify scam-related conversation patterns in real time.

7.AI for Accessibility with TalkBack:

Enhancements to the TalkBack accessibility feature will include AI-generated descriptions of objects for low-vision and blind users. For example, TalkBack might describe clothing details to help users understand what they are viewing.
