The “Cyber Surakshit Bharat” initiative launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) was envisaged with the aim to spread awareness about cyber-crime and build capacities of Chief Information security officers(CISOs) and frontline IT officials, across all government departments for ensuring adequate safety measures.
This is conceptualized to overcome the growing menace of cybercrime and enable organizations to defend digital infrastructures and become future ready in handling cyber-attacks.
The 41st CISO Deep drive training programme was organised by the National e-governance division (NeGD) under it’s capacity building scheme, from January 16 to 20, 2024.
Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, New Delhi , Odisha and West Bengal were among the participants that seized the occasion at the National Law University held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
The programme was inaugurated on January 16 by some of the senior officers from NeGD, MeitY and NISG.
The program's objective is to raise awareness, enhance capabilities, and empower government departments to establish a cyber-resilient ecosystem. It seeks to educate and guide participants on cyber safety and security, contributing to the advancement of the Digital India initiative by ensuring the integrated delivery of diverse government services.
The program aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity, fostering knowledge and awareness, and enabling government departments to manage their cyber hygiene, safety, and security effectively.
From June 2018 to December 2023, NeGD has successfully conducted 41 sessions of the CISO deep-dive training program, benefiting over 1,548 CISOs and frontline IT officials.
