In response to reports of the green line issue affecting certain Galaxy S series smartphones, Samsung has announced a proactive measure to address the concern in the Indian market.
The tech giant is extending a complimentary screen replacement service for eligible users encountering this display anomaly.
Under this initiative, Samsung is offering a one-time free screen replacement for specific models within the Galaxy S20, Note 20, S21, and S22 Ultra series.
This offer applies to devices purchased within the past three years and is valid until April 30, 2024.
To avail themselves of this service, affected users are required to schedule an appointment at their nearest Samsung service centre. Upon assessment, devices meeting the eligibility criteria—such as absence of physical or water damage—will undergo repair at no cost to the owner.
Included in the repair process is not only the installation of a brand-new display but also the provision of a new battery, ensuring comprehensive restoration of the device's functionality.
Eligible devices for free replacement:
- Samsung Galaxy S20/S20+/S20 Ultra
- Samsung Galaxy Note 20/Note 20 Ultra
- Samsung Galaxy S21 (SM-G991B)
- Samsung Galaxy S21+ (SM-G996B)
- Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra (SM-G998B)
- Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (SM-S908E)
Samsung's proactive approach mirrors a similar initiative recently undertaken by OnePlus in response to the green line issue.
For users experiencing the green line issue on their eligible Galaxy S series devices, prompt action is advised to take advantage of this limited-time offer before the end of the month.
