Omega Seiki Mobility forged a partnership with Exponent Energy to launch the electric three-wheeler with rapid-charging capabilities.

India took a significant step towards promoting electric mobility last Friday with the introduction of the world’s fastest-charging passenger electric three-wheeler, capable of charging fully in just 15 minutes.

Omega Seiki Mobility, in collaboration with Exponent Energy, introduced the 'OSM Stream City Qik' electric vehicle (EV), showcasing its rapid-charging capabilities. Priced at Rs 3,24,999, the Qik is set to revolutionize the electric vehicle market.

According to a statement from the company, the Qik can swiftly charge from zero to 100 per cent within 15 minutes, utilizing Exponent’s rapid charging infrastructure available in six major cities.

Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of Omega Seiki Mobility, emphasized the vehicle's potential to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime for drivers. "By minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency on the road, the Qik ensures that every journey translates into tangible financial gains for our drivers," Narang stated.

Backed by a warranty of 2 lakh kilometers or five years, the Qik is designed to offer both reliability and longevity to its users.

Exponent Energy, in its statement, revealed plans to deploy 100 charging stations in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru this year, with further expansion into Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Hyderabad.

Arun Vinayak, Co-founder and CEO of Exponent Energy, highlighted the economic benefits of using Exponent-powered EVs. "This dual benefit of maximum revenue and lower cost unlocks the highest possible profit a user can extract from their Exponent-powered EV compared to any other EV or ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicle," Vinayak remarked.

Equipped with an 8.8 kWh proprietary battery pack, the passenger EV boasts a city drive range of 126 kilometers on a single charge.

The launch comes on the heels of a surge in sales of passenger three-wheelers in January, surpassing 53,537 units, signaling a growing shift towards electric mobility in India.
