In Hingoli, the district election personnel found technical problems in 39 ballot machines, 16 control units and 25 VVPAT machines.

Technical issues with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) caused disruptions in polling across Maharashtra's Marathwada and Vidarbha districts. Malfunctions were reported in Hingoli and Nanded constituencies in Marathwada, and in Akola, Amaravati, and Wardha constituencies in Vidarbha.

District election authorities promptly responded by either replacing or repairing the faulty EVMs to ensure seamless and trouble-free voting in these areas.

In Hingoli, 39 ballot machines, 16 control units, and 25 VVPAT machines encountered technical problems, leading to a temporary halt in polling. However, after necessary interventions, the process resumed.

Similar incidents occurred in other constituencies. In Amaravati, polling was disrupted for 15 minutes at a station in Rukmininangar school due to EVM malfunction.

Another snag in Wadarpura affected polling there. In Umara village of Akot tehsil, Akola district, a non-functional EVM was promptly replaced to resume polling.

In Wardha constituency, BJP nominee Ramdas Tadas and other voters faced a 40-minute wait at Devil’s Yashwant Girls High School due to technical glitches in an EVM. The polling resumed after repairs.

By 9 a.m., polling percentages varied across constituencies: Wardha (7.18%), Akola (7.17%), Amravati (6.34%), Buldhana (6.61%), Hingoli (7.23%), Nanded (7.73%), Parbhani (9.72%), and Yavatmal – Washim (7.23%).

A total of 1,49,25,912 eligible voters were expected to cast their votes in 16,589 polling stations across these eight constituencies.

In Nanded, BJP's Pratap Patil Chikhalikar is up against Congress's Vasant Chavan. In Akola, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi's Prakash Ambedkar competes with BJP's Anup Mhatre and Congress's Abhay Patil. In Amaravati, BJP's Navneet Rana faces Congress's Balwant Wankhede.
