The second phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra is being held today with 8 constituencies going to the polls.

 

The state has recorded the lowest polling percentage of 7.45%, while Tripura recorded the highest; 16.65% voter turnout in phase two Lok Sabha elections as of 9 am.

 

Following his vote, BJP Leader, Ashok Chavan urged the public to turn out in force at the polls. He said, “My appeal to the people is to go and vote in large numbers”.

 

He emphasized the significance of each vote in shaping a robust government and encouraged active participation in the democratic process. Chavan reassured that any previous misunderstandings have been addressed, fostering certainty among the populace.

 

He also highlighted the recent provision of 10% reservation for the Maratha community

 

In terms of voter turnout, Parbhani emerged as the constituency with the highest participation rate, standing at 9.72%, closely followed by Nanded at 7.73% and Wardha at 7.18%. Akola and Hingoli exhibited comparable levels of engagement, with both recording a turnout of 7.17% and 7.23% respectively.

 

Meanwhile, Amravati and Yavatmal-Washim witnessed a turnout of 6.34% and 7.23% respectively, while Buldhana registered a participation rate of 6.61%.
