Union Home Minister Amit Shah addresses a press conference as MoS Nityanand Rai looks on, in Patna, Thursday.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking on Thursday, declared that the INDIA bloc would be completely "wiped out" in the upcoming Bihar polls, as the people of the state would exact "revenge" for the alleged insults by Congress workers toward Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother, as well as for Rahul Gandhi's act of "deriding" the Prime Minister and 'Chhathi Maiyya'.

While addressing a public rally in Lakhisarai district, he asserted that Rahul Gandhi, who serves as the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, had insulted 'Chhathi Maiyya' during his criticism of Modi, specifically by stating that those who worship the goddess were merely engaging in drama.

In a pointed jibe directed at Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, Shah urged the gathered crowd to press the buttons on the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) corresponding to the NDA symbols with such intense rage that the resulting tremors would be "felt in Italy".

Shah further claimed that Bihar had experienced a period of 'jungle raj' under the chief ministerships of Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, while emphasising that every single vote cast in favour of the NDA would contribute directly to the development of the state.

He alleged that during its 10 years in power, the UPA government had been involved in scams amounting to Rs 12 lakh crore, in stark contrast to the fact that no one could level accusations of corruption against either Modi or Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

"Lalu Prasad was involved in fodder, land-for-jobs, bitumen and flood relief scams... whereas Bihar moved on the path of development under the Nitish Kumar regime, and the Centre hiked MSP for agricultural produce and bolstered infrastructure," he said.

Shah claimed that during the UPA regime, terrorists had unleashed widespread mayhem across India without facing any repercussions, whereas under the Modi regime, every such attack had been repaid with retaliatory strikes conducted inside Pakistan.

"We will also drive out infiltrators from Bihar who usurp poor people's food grains and employment and indulge in anti-national activities," he said.

Additionally, Shah announced that a medical college would be established in Lakhisarai within the next two years, and it would be named in honour of Bihar's first chief minister, Shri Krishna Sinha.

Praising Goddess Sita as the "daughter of Bihar", he stated that a grand temple would be constructed at Punaura Dham in Sitamarhi at a total cost of Rs 850 crore, and that this temple would be linked to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya through a direct train service.

Under the rule of the NDA, the Centre has allocated and spent Rs 18 lakh crore on various projects in Bihar, including roads, railways, and greenfield motorways, while also establishing a Makhana Board, he said.
