US deploys F-22, F-35 jets and USS Gerald R. Ford toward Middle East as Iran tensions rise after Geneva nuclear talks.

The United States has deployed its most advanced fifth-generation aircraft—including F-22 and F-35 multi-role fighters—toward the Middle East amid escalating tensions with Iran. The move follows the second round of indirect nuclear negotiations in Geneva.

Independent flight-tracking data and military aviation monitors show multiple F-22, F-35, and F-16 fighter jets heading to the region, accompanied by several aerial refuelling tankers — indicating preparations for sustained operations.

Meanwhile, the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier strike group has left the Caribbean and is now transiting the mid-Atlantic toward the Middle East. According to sources quoted by several outlets, the Ford is sailing with three guided-missile destroyers: USS Mahan, USS Bainbridge, and USS Winston S. Churchill.

Iran has shown no urgency, citing its large ballistic missile arsenal and ability to deter Washington and Israel from launching a new war against Tehran.

Reports indicate that China, Russia, and North Korea are aiding Iran with advanced military technology — though not to the extent that could decisively shift the balance in a full-scale conflict.

Military observers note that China has linked its satellite system and cyber capabilities with Iran, providing Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps with live 24/7 battlefield visuals.

Russia has assisted in improving Iran’s air defence capabilities, while North Korea is expected to supply ordnance if a war erupts.

Experts believe a war between Iran and Israel is almost inevitable, but neither side wants to fire the first shot. They warn that a conflict with Iran would damage President Donald Trump’s legacy and prove futile, given Iran’s network of more than 800 proxies worldwide.

Political commentators in Washington suggest an Iran–Israel war could unfold before the midterm elections in November this year, with the US likely defending Israel from Iranian attacks.

Responding to Trump’s threats, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said earlier this week, "The aircraft carrier has massive firepower, but they are not unsinkable—they will be sunk to the bottom of the ocean floor.”
