Nagaland Board results out; Pass rates see uptick

NBSE declared Class 10 and 12 results, with pass percentages of 72.07% and 85.46%; Aman Kumar tops HSLC, while stream toppers lead HSSLC.

The Nagaland Board of School Education on Thursday declared the results of the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations, recording pass percentages of 72.07 and 85.46 respectively.

 

In the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) or Class 10 examination, 22,765 candidates appeared, of whom 16,406 passed, translating to a pass percentage of 72.07. Aman Kumar of MGM Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, topped the examination with 590 marks (98.33 per cent), securing both the NBSE Topper Award and the Governor’s Gold Medal.

 

He was followed by Sudhanshu Kumar of Olympic Higher Secondary School, Zunheboto, who scored 98.00 per cent. The third position was jointly held by Shreya Singh of Holy Child School, Dimapur, and Benchumo Tungoe of Isaiah Ability Higher Secondary School, Wokha, both securing 97.67 per cent.

 

In the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) or Class 12 examination, the overall pass percentage stood at 85.46 per cent, marking an increase of 3.02 percentage points from 82.44 per cent recorded in 2025.

Stream-wise, in Arts, 11,594 candidates appeared and 9,945 passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 85.78. In Science, 2,749 students appeared, of whom 2,355 cleared the examination, with a pass percentage of 85.67. The Commerce stream recorded a pass percentage of 81.69, with 919 out of 1,125 candidates passing.

 

Among stream toppers, Menguhaankum Chang of St John Higher Secondary Residential School, Dimapur, topped the Science stream with 95.60 per cent. Keleno Thorie of Northfield Higher Secondary School, Kohima, secured the top position in Arts with 96.80 per cent, while Shreya Debnath of Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, topped the Commerce stream with 96 per cent.

 

The board said marksheets for both HSLC and HSSLC examinations will be distributed through respective institutions between May 1 and May 5. Students may apply for rescrutiny within 15 days, while compartmental and improvement examinations are scheduled for June 2026, with applications open from May 11 to May 16.
