"NTA personnel immediately initiated the change and contacted the candidate's father on the evening of June 19 to help them complete the formal process. NTA has observed that on 3 occasions, once, the centre was changed to Abu Dhabi using the candidate's credentials, and twice it was previewed that the centre is Abu Dhabi,” the agency said.

The student, Abdulla Talib, had given preference to Nagpur, Wardha, and Bhandara centres for the examination. However, when he received his admit card issued by the NTA, he was shocked to find that he was allotted an examination centre in Abu Dhabi, his father, Dr Mohammed Talib, told a news channel.

The exercise will commence at 9 am and run until late evening, with more than 250,000 security personnel expected to take part across the country.

"NTA will NEVER ask for any payment, send exam papers, answer keys, or 'leaked' material, or share your admit card via a link," the advisory said, adding, "If you receive any such message, do not click. Report it." Additionally, the NTA mentioned that it would now send exam updates and centre information to candidates directly via WhatsApp for the re-examination.

Detailed deliberations were held on the examination preparedness, coordination mechanisms, security protocols, logistical arrangements, grievance redressal mechanisms, and adherence to examination guidelines. States/UTs were advised to maintain close coordination with all stakeholders to ensure the smooth, transparent, and seamless conduct of the re-examination.

The institute has also equalled the best-ever global ranking achieved by any Indian institution. Over the past four years, IIT Delhi has demonstrated remarkable progress, climbing 79 places from 197th in 2024 to its current standing.

The re-examination is scheduled to take place on June 21, and officials have strongly advised candidates to remain vigilant against misleading posts and messages circulating on social media and messaging platforms.

A number of candidates who were supposed to sit for the re-examination have complained about their problems due to the complications they face while using the NTA’s official website.

According to a report, every expert involved in setting, moderating, and translating the NEET re-exam question paper has been moved to a secure, undisclosed location and placed under a strict lockdown until the examination concludes on June 21.

As June 13 and June 14  fall on the second Saturday and Sunday of the month respectively, the government decided that reopening schools on Monday, June 15 would be far more appropriate.

Preliminary investigation and examination of CCTV footage indicated that around 15 to 20 people associated with another coaching institute in Patna were allegedly involved in the stone-pelting and vandalism act, it added.
