On the day of the elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party shared a video on social media that showed a Congress female worker being molested during a campaigning rally earlier.

The BJP further called Congress “the most anti-woman” party.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said in a statement that Congress doesn't respect women, the poor, and Dalits.

CM Saini said, “They don't respect anyone including women, the poor and Dalits. This is in their culture & DNA. If we get an application in this regard then we will take action. Our government will take strict action and not spare anyone. Women are an integral part of the society,” CM Saini said.

CM Saini however further said, Congress does not respect the poor.

“They don't respect the poor, it is in their DNA. They use Dalits whenever elections are near,” CM said.

In his attack on Congress, Saini also mentions that Deepender Hooda’s photo was seen with the alleged kingpin of a 5000 crore drug case.

The CM added, "...In the Rs 5000 cr drugs case, (the alleged kingpin) has a photo with Deepender Hooda..Are they spreading drugs among youth? Rahul (Congress MP Rahul Gandhi) visited Haryana, he should have spoken about this..."

He said, “What were they doing selling drugs to the youth of the state? Why were they doing this?,” asked CM Saini.

BJP’s national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla has termed the incident as shameful.

“A very shameful video has surfaced. It is circulating in the media, and Kumari Selja has confirmed it. In broad daylight, on a Congress platform in the presence of Deepender Hooda, a female leader was openly harassed and abused by Congress workers... If women in Congress are not safe on public platforms during the day, how can the state's women feel secure?" Poonawalla said.

However, in a video doing rounds on X, formerly known as Twitter, released by Haryana Congress, the woman has denied all rumours of her being molested and further said that her name and photo was used by some mischievous elements of society to create a fake account which were spreading such rumours.

The video further stated that the fake ID’s are using her name and commenting against her uncle, Jassi Petwar who is fielded by Congress.

“Deepender Hooda had come for an event. Some mischievous elements are making fake IDs using my name and commenting against my uncle & Congress candidate Jassi Petwar. Please don't use my name. I am entirely with Congress. It can be seen that I was standing right next to my uncle Jassi Petwar. I stand with him and support him,” the video released said.

Haryana has recorded 49.31 pc of voter turnout till 3 PM on Saturday as per the Elections Commission of India.

Both BJP and Congress are confident that they will win the elections.
