In the wake of incidents of violence and irregularities during the initial polling, repolling in 11 polling stations of the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha constituency witnessed a voter turnout of 73.05% by 3 p.m., officials reported on Monday.

DC Imphal East, Khumanthem Diana Devi stated, "Elections across 11 polling booths in Inner Manipur Lok Sabha constituency is underway peacefully with more than 73 per cent voter turnout recorded till 3 pm."

The Election Commission's directive declared the previous voting, conducted on April 19, null and void, necessitating fresh polling in the affected stations.

Despite the tumultuous events that transpired during the previous polling, voters turned out in significant numbers since the early hours, eager to exercise their democratic rights.

Thus far, authorities have noted no disturbances or violence during the repolling process.

Allegations of firing, intimidation, destruction of EVMs, and booth capturing marred the electoral process in conflict-hit Manipur during the initial polling.

The state recorded a turnout of 72% across both Lok Sabha constituencies—Inner Manipur and Outer Manipur—on Friday.
