Rohini Acharya, daughter of former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, formally entered the political arena by filing her nomination from Bihar's Saran Lok Sabha constituency on Monday.
Accompanied by her were family members including her mother, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, and brothers Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap, Acharya's candidacy marks a significant moment in Bihar's electoral landscape.
Having diligently campaigned in Saran over recent days, Acharya is poised to carry forward the legacy of her father, who represented the constituency multiple times until his disqualification in 2013 due to a conviction in a fodder scam case.
Expressing confidence in his sister's candidacy, Tejashwi Yadav, speaking to mediapersons in Patna, anticipated wholehearted support from the constituents.
Yadav projected optimism for the 'Mahagathbandhan' alliance, asserting their impending victory across all 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar. He challenged BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting their imminent defeat in the state.
Yadav's sentiments echoed a bold prediction for Bihar's electoral outcome, with assurance that the 'Mahagathbandhan' will emerge triumphant. With Saran scheduled for polling in the fifth phase on May 20, anticipation builds for a closely watched electoral contest in the region.
The parliamentary elections in Bihar, spanning across seven phases from April 19 to June 1, will decide the fate of 40 Lok Sabha seats, with each phase contributing to the unfolding narrative of Bihar's political landscape.
