The action drama ‘Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha’, starring Adivi Sesh, has grossed over Rs 40 crore worldwide during its opening weekend at the box-office. The film is directed by Shaneil Deo, marking his debut as a filmmaker. He has also co-written the screenplay along with Sesh. In addition to Sesh, the movie features performances by Mrunal Thakur and filmmaker-actor Anurag Kashyap.
Released on April 10, the Sesh-led film opened strongly, collecting Rs 15 crore globally on its first day. The film’s total worldwide earnings have now surpassed Rs 40 crore.
“Dacoit” tells the story of a furious convict driven by revenge against his former girlfriend, who betrayed him. The project is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda, co-presented by Suniel Narang, and presented by Annapurna Studios.
The film also stars Prakash Raj, Atul Kulkarni, and Zayn Marie Khan in key roles, and has been released simultaneously in both Hindi and Telugu languages.
