Chandigarh UT administration moves AP Dhillon's December 21 concert to Sector 25.

Chandigarh UT administration is relocating the venue for Singer AP Dhillon's concert, scheduled for December 21, from Sector 34 to Sector 25. The decision has been taken following complaints from the residents, traders, and concerns over severe traffic congestion, noise pollution, and disruptions to businesses during previous concerts by Karan Aujla and Diljit Dosanjh in Sector 34.

The concert will now be held at the rally ground in Sector 25, an area designated for protests, processions, and rallies, with prior permission.

The nearby cremation ground also raised concerns for the original venue.

In light of the issues raised for the last two concerts, the administration is unlikely to permit any future concerts in Sector 34.

Chandigarh deputy commissioner (DC) Nishant Yadav, making confirmation regarding the venue change, asserted, "After discussions with the officers concerned, we have decided to shift the venue for AP Dhillon’s concert from Sector 34 to Sector 25. We have also informed the organisers about this change."

"Following the two major concerts in Sector 34, which is located in the heart of the city, we received numerous complaints about traffic snarls, noise pollution, and business disruptions. Considering AP Dhillon’s immense fan following, we felt it was necessary to shift the venue", he added.

Meanwhile, Diljit Dosanjh who performed in Chandigarh last week, suggested holding stages surrounded by the audience on all sides in future performances to enhance the immersive experience.

Dosanjh declared at his concert in Chandigarh on December 14 that he would refrain from performing in the city until the administration improves its live show facilities. This statement, widely circulated through viral videos, coincides with the conclusion of Dosanjh's immensely successful ‘Dil-Luminati Tour'.

"We don’t have the proper infrastructure for live shows here. This is a significant source of revenue, and many people rely on it for work. Until the infrastructure improves, I won’t be doing shows here again", Diljit was seen saying in the video.
