Never been one to sugarcoat things, Amy has always kept it completely real whether it is her career or relationships.

Amy Schumer was living her best single life when a medical mishap threw a wrench in.

Months after her breakup with husband Chris Fischer in December last year, the “Trainwreck” star admits she is feeling less like herself due to a "botched colonoscopy".

The procedure did not go quite as planned, leaving the notoriously candid comedian dealing with some unexpected physical downtime.

“I feel happier than I’ve ever been before,” Amy said during the podcast “Not Skinny But Not Fat”, to which host Amanda Hirsch hinted at her recent weight loss and asked, “Does it have to do with being really hot?”

And Amy appreciated the compliment, she said, “I actually had kind of a botched colonoscopy, so I’m not feeling very sexual.”

Amy, who shares 7-year-old son Gene with Chris, did not divulge additional details of the procedure. “See, that’s another thing you’re not going to have to worry about for 15 years,” she joked.

The 44-year-old star has openly shared her medical history with her fans, including her battle with Cushing syndrome, a condition she credits with heavily reshaping her approach to weight loss.

“I didn’t lose 30lbs, I lost 50,” Amy wrote in the December 2 post. “Not to look hot which does feel fun and temporary. I did it to survive. I had a disease that makes your face extremely puffy and can kill you but the internet caught it and that disease has cleared.”

Amy added of her personal health, “Sorry for whatever feeling it’s giving you that I lost weight. I’ve had plastic surgery over the years and I use Mounjaro.”

The “I Feel Pretty” star has also previously emphasised that she has always been comfortable in her own skin, but that her physical transformation has been part of an overall wellness journey.

"I have been working to be pain free and I finally am. My endometriosis is better. My back is healing. I no longer have Cushing syndrome so my face went back to normal. I am grateful to be strong and healthy, especially for my son,” she wrote in an Instagram post in November last year.

She added, “I’m proud of how I’ve looked always.”
