Anya Taylor-Joy is gearing up to feature in “The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum”, a project of New Line Cinema and Warner Bros Pictures.
In the Andy Serkis-directorial, Anya will essay the character of Seren, a Sindar Elf of the Woodland Realm, a trusted and lethal agent of King Thranduil (Pace). Serkis will also reprise his role of Gollum in the film.
“The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum” features a star-studded reunion of Middle-earth legends. The confirmed cast includes Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Elijah Wood as Frodo, and Lee Pace as Thranduil.
Anya joins an ensemble of new cast members, including Kate Winslet who will play Marigol, Jamie Dornan will be seen as Strider, and Leo Woodall will essay the role of Halvard.

The screenplay is written by Walsh and Boyens, in collaboration with Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou.
“The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum” is set for a worldwide premier on December 17, 2027.
Apart from “The Hunt for Gollum”, another project under the “Lord of the Rings” universe in the pipeline is “Shadow of the Past”, which will be written by Philippa Boyens, Stephen Colbert, and Peter McGee. The film will be produced by WingNut Films in association with Spartina Industries.
Notably, to mark the 25th anniversary of “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” in 2026, Fathom Entertainment brought the original trilogy back to the theatres. This milestone serves as a reminder of the franchise's staggering commercial power, with New Line Cinema’s six-film Middle-earth saga, spanning “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit”, earning nearly $6 billion in global box office sales.
