Indian-American musician and businesswoman, Chandrika Tandon, born in Chennai, claimed the Grammy for Best New Age, Ambient or Chant Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
Tandon, 71, won the coveted honour for her album Triveni, a fusion of ancient chants and world music.
The award was announced at the Grammy ceremony, which took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday (early Monday morning in India). Tandon is the elder sister of Indra Nooyi, former CEO of PepsiCo.
Triveni, a seven-track album, was created as a meditative journey for listeners, promoting "inner healing."
A collaboration between South African flautist Wouter Kellerman, Japanese cellist Eru Matsumoto, and Tandon, the album reflects the blend of their distinct musical styles. The name Triveni symbolises the confluence of three rivers, reflecting the fusion of their diverse musical traditions.

Chandrika expressed her gratitude on social media, acknowledging the support of fellow musicians.
"We wouldn’t be here except for the incredible support of so many! There are such spectacular fellow musicians I met along the way... Thank you,” she wrote, also praising her collaborators Matsumoto and Kellerman.
The Grammy Awards ceremony, hosted by Trevor Noah, was streamed live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The premiere ceremony, where the majority of the awards were presented, was available on YouTube via the Recording Academy’s official channel.
For the Indian audience, the event was streamed exclusively on Disney Plus Hotstar.
