Fans across India have been left disappointed following the news that the legendary German hard rock band, Scorpions, has had to pull the plug on its highly anticipated 'Coming Home' tour. The band, famous for anthems like 'Wind of Change' and 'Blackout', was forced to cancel the upcoming dates due to what have been described as "unforeseen medical circumstances" involving band members.
Founded in Hanover back in 1965 by Rudolf Schenker, the group had a packed itinerary starting on April 21 at the JN Stadium in Shillong. The tour was meant to continue through Delhi-NCR on April 24 and Bengaluru on April 26, before wrapping up at Mumbai’s Jio Gardens on April 30.
The tour’s promoters, BookMyShow Live, broke the news on Saturday via Instagram, confirming that the health of the band members had to take priority. In their statement, the organisers expressed sincere regret for the inconvenience caused to those who had already secured their spots. They also noted that the band remains incredibly keen to return to India as soon as their schedule and health permit.
For those worried about their money, the organisers have assured fans that all tickets purchased through BookMyShow will be automatically refunded within seven to ten working days.
This tour was meant to be a long-awaited return for the Scorpions, who haven't played on Indian soil since the 2000s. Their previous visits included the 'Acoustica Live Tour' in 2001 and the 'Humanity World Tour' in 2007. While the wait for their return continues, the primary focus for now remains on the band's recovery.
