Undeterred by the backlash, the mother of two has continued to post pictures of her black Labrador Retriever on her social media.

Khloé Kardashian is unfazed by the backlash that she received from PETA after she posted a picture of a new puppy she bought as a Christmas present for her children.

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) slammed Khloé and her sister, Kim, for buying pups as Christmas gifts for their kids from breeders rather than adopting from a rescue shelter.

However, undeterred by the backlash, Khloé, 41, who shares two children—7-year-old daughter True, and 3-year-old son Tatum—with her ex, Tristan Thompson, has continued to post pictures of her black Labrador Retriever on her social media.

In one picture, the pup named Peppermint was seen sitting in a cute pose on the gravel driveway. In another picture, Peppermint is seen lying on the reality TV star’s belly in her sprawling mansion.

Earlier, Khloé’s sister Kim, too, had shared on social media that she bought four puppies for each of her children for Christmas, which infuriated the members of the PETA. Kim shares four kids—North, 12, Saint, 10, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6—with ex-husband Kanye West.

Ingrid Newkirk, founder of PETA, released a statement slamming Kim's choice of present and also hit out at Khloé for buying a puppy from a breeder instead of a shelter.

Newkirk said in the statement: "Puppies are not plushies, and it’s a damn shame that Kim missed the chance to be a spokesperson for shelter pups and instead is being rightly slammed on social media for that."

She said: "Ignoring the homeless animals crisis is inexcusably callous, and so we ask Kim and Khloe, who did the same thing, to call PETA or a local shelter the next time they want to bring an animal into their home."

She added: "And try to make some amends now by sending their kids to volunteer at a local shelter or paying for a local shelter adopt-a-thon or at least one spay day to help stop the growing homeless puppy crisis."
